My early morning walk awakened me to the beauty and kindness of the Rhine. I met some of the most influential people here and I think it is one of the most beautiful places in the world.
When I think of a masterpiece, I envision that moment when you stand before something that completely overwhelms you. You might feel the urge to let a tear go, or in my case, a stupid grin takes over my face. It is a time when your life changes because you have seen greatness. Here are five of my masterpiece moments. Please read the captions to understand why.
I know a lot of people don’t like the Eiffel Tower, but it holds such fond memories for me, I can’t help but love it. This beautiful evening was one of the happiest moments of my life.
After spending the day in Auvers-Sur-Oise, I felt closer than ever to Van Gogh. Here I stand in the wheatfields where one of his last paintings was put on canvas. I felt an understanding that I had never felt before.
Venice and the surrounding Islands have created some of the happiest memories for me. Standing on this bridge made me realize how much I love photography and how fortunate I am to see such beautiful places.
Of course I have to get food in here. This was a dish I created in cooking class. I’ve realized that food and gathering with people have fueled some of my favorite memories. Even I can make a masterpiece dish.
Love all your pictures, especially the Rhine church. I can imagine taking a deep breath as I come up to this scene.
Agree with you that photography can be an emotional experience.
We are preparing a cruise on the Mediterranean for Nov. and I am so excited about using my camera again in a world of new sights.
