Different camera positions create diverse photographic opportunities. Simply going from horizontal to vertical can completely change the message of the photo. Other ways to look at a scene differently include a different angle, camera level, lighting, shutter speed, and the list goes on. The trick is finding the right combination to create the image you want to share.
This week’s photo challenge has us looking at the same scene in a different way. How do you know which version you like best when photographing? I just see it and know what works for me.
After spending the day in Auvers-Sur-Oise, I felt closer than ever to Van Gogh. Here I stand in the wheatfields where one of his last paintings was put on canvas. I felt an understanding that I had never felt before.
Of course I have to get food in here. This was a dish I created in cooking class. I’ve realized that food and gathering with people have fueled some of my favorite memories. Even I can make a masterpiece dish.
